Loathsome Kingdom
by Samuel Locke

The book is an absurdist, dark humor novella. It is a tale about a kingdom that has a new ruler who has taken power. The name of this new leader is Lord Glorbsquall, and he seizes command, making grand promises that he will solve all of the kingdom’s problems, and guaranteeing a more prosperous, richly rewarding future than they ever could have dared to imagine, for all the citizens of the kingdom. Lord Glorbsquall assures all the people of the kingdom that he is the champion and visionary leader that the kingdom desperately needs. Unfortunately, Lord Glorbsquall turns out to be an absolute, contemptible fraud, and a mad king who cares about nothing, aside from his craven corruption and wanton cruelty that he gleefully inflicts on the people he holds dominion over, people who he doesn’t actually give a damn about, as they suffer through a veritable hellscape caused by his disastrous policies and inept mishandling of the kingdom. Wow, I wonder what that would be like.
If the reader chooses to explore the story of Lord Glorbsquall, they will bear witness to a truly Loathsome Kingdom that defies all sense and reason as it boggles the mind. Within the Loathsome Kingdom, unfathomable atrocities occur, as well as comical, staggering stupidity. Things get ugly in the Loathsome Kingdom, as the depths of Lord Glorbsquall’s depravity seem to know no bounds, in terms of how low he will sink. But, everything that takes place in the Loathsome Kingdom is presented as if it was just a morbid farce. Lord Glorbsquall may very well be the worst leader of all time, but if you were to ask him, or any of his dedicated supporters, they would all adamantly declare that Lord Glorbsquall is, without question, the greatest leader in all of history. If you choose to proceed, sit back and enjoy the journey, because things are going to get ludicrously, outrageously wild.
